Gallatin Graduation
by Chris Maguire
welcome to graduation
I hope you're having a blast
It's the inaguration
of the present into the past
welcome to graduation
you'll all be in my heart
despite our seperation
we'll never be apart
welcome to graduation
now dry your little eye
it's a manifestation
of our time together gone by
welcome to graduation
no more racing against the clock
now, with great elation
i'll play faster and bring the ROCK
now
some of us walked in here
four years ago
some of you took just three years
and made the rest of us feel slow
but
reguardless of our ages
we'll still have to explain
to potential employers
what induvidualized study means
sure, we all seem unique
the student body's got a twisted physique
but I'd surely place a wager
that we'll all have trouble describing our majors
we all took different courses
yet I'm guaranteeing
John Berger's made a fortune
off Gallatin with Ways of Seeing
though we've got less money
we've got an edge on stern
in conversation we'll flaunt
our stronger knowledge of the postmodern
sure, we all seem unique
the student body's got a twisted physique
but I'd surely place a wager
that we'll all have trouble describing our majors
sure, we all seem unique
the student body's got a twisted physique
but I'd surely place a wager
that we'll all have trouble describing our majors
